Bullet Journals for my Valentine

Because this post is about bullet journals… and it was just Valentine’s day… get it? It’s funny, right??

Okay. Yeah. That was bad. I’m sorry.
*This blog does not endorse (or listen to) shitty metalcore bands.

Terrible puns featuring terrible bands aside, I really have been working on my bullet journal lately (yaaay) and I did celebrate on Valentine’s day.. sort of. (I had a girl’s night at Starbucks with my bestie, during which we talked about her various dating prospects, and my utter contempt for the idea of dating anyone at all. #allthesingleladies)

And it was delicious.

I’ve been keeping up with my planner pretty fastidiously since the new year, but my bullet journal had sat untouched since last October until a few days ago. I haven’t been sleeping well at all in February; I find myself awake until 4am or later nearly every night, so lately I’ve been trying to use that time to write or work on my bullet journal (since it’s usually obvious that sleep is not going to happen.)

I’m also trying my hardest to stay committed to using only one planner for the entirety of 2017– which on one hand, my planner is super cute, but on the other hand, I’ve also got a neutral vertical Erin Condren that looks awfully tempting sometimes. I can resist everything except temptation.

So, without further ado– photos!

I added some sass to my otherwise PG rated planner cover.

I’ve been mentally berating myself for the past few weeks to stop moping and get my shit together.

And it’s finally starting to (sort of) work– yay!

I broke out my bullet journal a few nights ago and updated it for 2017. (Side note: I’m so pleased with my weight loss tracker! I’ve lost 17 pounds since Christmas. Yaaassss!)

Some of my short and long term goals for 2017. Pretty sure my mom had a silent heart attack when she saw “nipple piercings” on my to do list. #sorrynotsorry

This is my favorite spread of all, so far. I was having a really incredibly awful night a few nights ago– like the kind where I wanted to break wine glasses and stab stuffed animals– but instead, I got onto Pinterest and searched for bujo mood trackers. Being deeply bipolar, this kind of tracker is extremely useful to keep track of my mood and chart any possible external influences that may be affecting it. But okay, I’ll stop gushing now.

I feel like I’m slowly, painstakingly beginning to get myself straightened out, with the help of my planners. I mean, I’ve got planners, I’ve got books, I’ve got a badass Demon Hunter build in D3.. what more does a girl need?

Well. Honestly. I could still really use some cats.

Blog Redesign! Like.. Majorly.

If you’ve been to my blog at any point in the last year, and are just now revisiting, you probably have a lot of questions. Such as, What on earth HAPPENED here? and, Where did all the happy pink and flowers go? or even, Why does it look like the 90’s Goth scene threw up all over your blog??

Astute observations. Firstly, I would think that it’s fairly obvious what has happened: I’ve sold my soul to the lesser demons of creativity and website management for the appropriate Necromancy skills to resurrect a dead blog from its grave. Secondly, there is no happy pink and flowers, only Zuul. Thirdly, the 90’s Goth scene was fabulous, and my poor millennial heart aches for it everyday.

You’re probably still a tad confused, and I can’t rightfully blame you. My blog was formerly a bright and cheerful space filled with planners and sticker hauls and joy– now it looks as though its crawled straight from the seventh circle of Hell to sacrifice virgins into a volcano. Well, let me just assure you that, yes, I still love my planner, and no, I absolutely do not condone volcanic virgin sacrifice (except for possibly in very extreme cases.)

I guess in a way, I just look at this as me branching out. My blog was so niche before, focused solely on planners and planner accessories, that it was kind of inevitable that the well of creativity would eventually run dry. I’m still very much a planner girl, and I’m all about those sticker hauls (when I can actually, you know, afford them)– but I want a place where, if I’m not feeling the planner vibe one day, I can feel equally comfortable talking about the latest book I read that was amazing, that completely fabulous outfit I put together and wore to the grocery store (because my life is super exciting), or even bore you all with blow-by-blow details about how I totes stomped that n00b in Hearthstone with my totally awesome Mage deck (ahem, or, if we’re being honest, how my win-loss ratio is, in actuality, pretty goddamn pathetic.)

I’m seeing some blank faces– but it’s okay, I expected this. Why the fuck do I care about your Goth makeup or books or stupid video games?  I can just see that question running through your head right now, and that’s okay. If my redesign and subsequent subject-branching isn’t to your taste, that’s completely fine. I will not be offended if this is the point where we part ways. But if you want to stick around and read about planners and books and cats and makeup, then I’ll do my best to keep things at least mildly amusing for you. After all, my body is made up of 97% sarcasm and snark, and that has to be good for something, right?

Let’s do this.

Plan With Me // October 24-30

Hello, planner lovers!

I know, I know– usually my Plan With Me posts don’t debut until Mondays, but I was so excited for this week’s post that I’m sharing it with you a day early!

This week’s Plan With Me is getting spooky– I decorated my planner for my absolute favorite holiday coming up next week: Halloween! It might not be immediately apparent by all the pink and flowers of my blog design, but I’m a huge Halloween & horror junkie. I keep my apartment decorated for Halloween more or less all year round, and I’d be happy watching Scream or Friday the 13th any day. So when I get to start decorating my planner for the most wonderful time of the year– it’s exciting.

This week I’m back in my favorite planner, my gorgeous Kate Spade rose gold Wellesley planner. On a random personal note, my style is a weird mix of goth and shabby chic, which explains my love both for skulls and peonies!

Plan With Me // October 17-23

Hello, planner lovers!

I’m so excited to be back in the world of planner blogging– I had missed sharing my planner with you each week. This week I’ve been dividing my time between my perfect-for-Fall Recollections gold striped planner, and my Erin Condren blog planner (which is really more function than fashion, honestly!) I’ve been absolutely loving the Happy Planner stickers by Me & My Big Ideas lately, and I just ordered the cutest set of Autumn themed stickers from Sticker Bloom on Etsy– I can’t wait to share them on the blog once they get here.

Adore Planner Co. is Back!

Hey, guys!

So it’s no secret that my foray into self hosted blogging didn’t work out. As a struggling waitress who’s trying to pay bills and blog on the side, it came down to a matter of finances– and my financial situation doesn’t currently support a self-hosted platform.

But there’s good news! I’ve worked really hard to recreate a beautiful version of Adore Planner Co. on WordPress.com, and if I’m being honest I almost love it more than the original site!

All of my future blog posts will be posted to www.adoreplannerco.wordpress.com, but I’ll continue to cross post snippets here. Currently I’m in the middle of a new blog series, Bullet Journaling 101, and the second post will be live soon. You can find the first post, which is all about finding cute supplies for your bullet journal, here.

Also, my newsletter will be revamped and revived soon as well. I’m working on coordinating everything, and the first new issue should be sent out within the week. If you’re not currently subscribed, my newsletter features exclusive blog content as well as freebies like printables and planner goodies, and you can subscribe be following this link.

I know that I have a fair amount of followers here on For the Love of Planners– I’d really love it if you guys could take a second to follow Adore Planner Co. also! There’s a WordPress follow button on my blog page, which you can find here. Once you follow, you’ll be notified via WordPress email of any new posts.

I’m so excited about the relaunch of Adore Planner Co.– this concept has really been my baby for the last six months, and I have a lot of (hopefully) great ideas to make it amazing.

My mission statement for Adore Planner Co. is that my blog’s purpose isn’t just to showcase the cute accessories that come with planning, it’s really to enjoy and celebrate the process of planning itself. I want to share all I’ve learned about organization, building habits, and managing the details of day to day life through the help of planning, and I want to offer my own insight, in addition to the many resources that have helped me along the way to help you organize your life.

I hope you’ll join me over at Adore Planner Co.! Feel free to comment on my posts, or to reach out via Twitter (@adoreplannerco) or Instagram. You can even find me on Snapchat @adoreplannerco! I love hearing from fellow planner lovers, and I look forward to chatting with you.

Kate Spade Wellesley Setup & Handmade Dividers

Hi Planner Lovers!! Last night I recorded my second YouTube video, where I shared my new setup in my Kate Spade Wellesley planner. I made handmade dividers from the Studio Calico scrapbook kit and a few Planner Society accessories, and I’m so happy with how they turned out!

Check out my video and let me know what you think! I’ll also have several new videos coming up soon, like unboxings for my new Filofax A5 Nude Patent (squeal!!) and my first ever Erin Condren planner– as well as sticker hauls from some of my favorite Etsy shops.

Be sure to visit my blog at adoreplannerco.com for more videos & updates, and don’t miss my first Plan With Me video from Monday!

Weekly Habits & Resolutions, Week #1

Weekly Habits & Resolutions

This week I’m beginning a new series on my blog where I’ll be taking a look at my habits throughout the week, and my goals for the upcoming week. Several years ago I made a weekly life checklist to try to keep up with my home, finance, and fitness goals– it’s just a simple Word document, but it’s worked wonders for keeping track of daily tasks and staying on point toward my weekly goals.

Each week I’ll be critiquing my progress for the previous week, and setting new goals for the week ahead using my life checklist (which will also be available for you to download at the bottom of the post!)

Building a Healthy Morning Routine

Mornings are the most important part of the day: they set the tone for the day ahead, and starting off with a healthy morning routine makes it easier to make good choices throughout the day. I’ve been working on building a healthy morning routine recently, and it’s already making a huge difference in my energy and mood– starting my days with a routine I love makes for a more positive mindset during my day.

I’ve been building on my morning routine for a few weeks now, and it’s still by no means perfected– the beauty of a routine is that it can evolve over time. I keep track of my morning routine and plan my goals for each day in my gorgeous fauxdori planner, which was made by Mellon Journal on Etsy. I think it’s important to start each day with something that energizes and refreshes you– I have my only hours of true quiet time during my early mornings, and they go a long way toward shaping the rest of my day into something positive and inspiring.
